What an honor to receive the Christ Johnson Lilla prize in composition from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. I was proud and grateful to be recognized by the Academy alongside my dear composer colleague Lisa Streich and leading musicians, music educators, and scholars. Afterwards we all celebrated with colleagues and friends. special thanks to my friend and longtime collaborator @linnkornhammar for being my date on this special evening. #composer

The 2024 Christ Johnson small prize from the Swedish Royal Academy of Music is awarded to Matthew Peterson for Högalidsmässan: “A large sacred work which, both in its accessibility and scope, gives an inspiring mission to many of the country’s church choirs.
